Spit it out!

I remember when my kids were small and from time to time they would pick up something off the floor, you know the tiniest, almost invisible marble, tack, button that I in my cleaning had missed. Either I noticed their sweet cheeks were full even as no food was given, or I heard what sounded like choking. Like a bat out of the proverbial hot place, I would go running in a panic, all the while screaming, spit it out, spit it out!

The crazy thing was that the child would hold its mouth tighter than an iron clamp, even as you tried to push its cheeks in to expel the thing. Sometimes in your frenzy to save their very life, you would shake your precious baby because you saw them dying before your very eyes.

But, because they did not understand how their cute little mouths were not the receptacle for everything, they squirmed and fought you with all they had in them. Once the odious object was ousted, you would be crying in relief and they would be screaming mad!

Now, for some Boomer Wisdom. Ya know how that relationship is killing you. The same kind of kinship you saw others drowning in and you hasten to give your two cents worth on how they needed to get out and get on. Well, spit it out! That penchant you have for buying designer stuff when you know that you got zilch in savings and if your light bill came up $1.00 more this month, you couldn’t pay it. Spit that stupidness out! The belief that nothing is valid until you give your opinion on it. Spit it out! Your view that the doctors in collusion(and they very well be) but, what does that have to do with you neglecting your health? So, you don’t think you need to take all your medicines. But, your blood sugar in the 300s, your blood pressure in the stratosphere and your kidneys bout to give up the ghost. Spit that foolishness out! That pretty mouth that is there to take in all that is nutritious for you, but, sees nothing but donuts, cakes, sodas, fried chicken, fried, bacon, fried macaroni and cheese(it exists), fried ice cream, come on now. Spit it out. Spit out the negativity that says you aren’t as good as others unless you in debt with certain initials on your backside. Spit out friends who never have anything good to say about anybody. Spit out hate. Spit out grudges you’ve had since you were in diapers and don’t even remember why. Shake your own self and dislodge that thing!

In other words, don’t allow anything in your body (or spirit) that can kill you, your joy, your potential.  And, if you happen to pick it up by mistake. Spit it out!

Blessings to you all!

Thanks Boomer. I enjoyed each story I read and the scriptures that went with them. For once i am sleeping late, never liked Daylight Savings Time, and just finished my novel in November.
