Like many single women who have struggled with relationships that do not satisfy, I was finally blessed to meet my match in my husband who loves me with a passion that touches everything about me.
Here is a poetry piece that I wrote before we married in 2013.
SANCTUARY
Like a small mouse in a big cage, I scurry off to find solace
The openness is too wide and too expansive to hold my dreams close
And I am frightened by all the possibilities.
But, then, you say, I love you. I love you. I love you.
It’s a 3 times charm of a powerful magic, the talisman of protection and security and I am transported back to the welcome safety of your embrace.
I am no longer afraid of the impotence of promises made. The strength and virility of the us that we have become grabs my feeble fears and suffocates it. The breath of your kiss brings life. Like covenant nuns, I genuflect and pay homage to your smile.. All is well.
